Baikal in 1 Day

We leave the city to the west towards Irkutsk along the federal highway, the only one that connects Buryatia with the Irkutsk region. About an hour to the Holy Trinity Monastery, one of the first in Eastern Siberia. We walk around the courtyard, admire the views of the Selenga River.

About an hour more, and we will visit the Baikal datsan Damba Darzhalin, a sacred place for Buddhists. Nearby, we will make a stop at the observation deck to admire Baikal.

Then it remained not far from the hotel in the forest, where we have a good lunch in a café, and then walk to the shore of Lake Baikal.

After the walk, we go back, and an hour later we make a relaxing stop in the hot outdoor pool, it is possible to swim in the hot mineral water in the fresh air even in winter. You can also just relax, have a snack in a café and walk to the bank of the Selenga.

From there a little more that 1 hour driving to return to Ulan-Ude.
